Just finishing up a contract with Gener8 doing stereoscopic conversion of Ghost Rider 2, which so far looks pretty good. I now have some official NukeX 6 experience under my belt. Sigraph is also in town and I will be there on Thurs.

I am currently seeking new contracts, My recent activity with Stargate Digital has come to a stop since the Vancouver studio has shut down for 2 months. I have finally completed my written shot breakdown and have added a download link to the breakdown reel. I will also be getting back to using Nuke and learning as much as I can of it.

New demo reel posted on the Blueshiftvfx channel on youtube, will be up here shortly also, I will be updating the website a bit too in my spare time (Hahaha, spare time) have a new break down reel too.

Well, I guess it has been a year since I have put in an update here, but I have been contracting for Stargate Studios non stop and worked on many shows since Defying Gravity wrapped. We are now just wrapping Haven, a few episodes in on Human Target, and ocasionally doing driving comps for Life unexpected. In my time with Stargate I have worked on Heroes, Greys Anatomy, Greek, Trauma, Monk, the Gates, Parent Hood, a few pilots and a feature called "Big Bang". I may have some slow time coming up to update a demo with some new shots.

Demo Reel has been updated with a download link in addition to just streaming, breakdown list has been updated as well as resume. Breakdown Demo still in progress. I am wrapping visual effects for Defying Gravity next week.

Demo reel is being updated please allow a few days for all files to be completed. I am currently doing visual effects for the recently cancelled Defying Gravity.

Welcome to the online home of Blue Shift Visual Effects Inc. Blue Shift VFX is Steve J Mcleod. I have been involved in computer graphics, animation and compositing visual effects for feature films, TV series and cartoons for over 15 years. To this date I have an ELAN for "Best Animated Effects", a Peabody Award from my work on Battlestar Galactica for "excelence in broadcasting", and a Prime Time Emmy honour for "outstanding visual effects" on Battlestar Galactica.
I currently am available for work. I specialize in compositing and 2D effects animation, using Fusion, Photoshop, After Effects and Mocha. At this time I am also training with Nuke.
